Delete your account

You can delete your invites.blog account yourself, on the website or in the app. It happens straight away and can't be undone.

How to do it

  1. Sign in, on the website or in the app.
  2. Go to Settings, then Sign-in & security.
  3. At the bottom, under Delete account, check what will go and ask for a code. It goes to your email, or your phone if your account has no email. You don't need a password.
  4. Enter the code and press Delete my account.

Can't sign in? Write to [email protected] from the address on your account.

What's deleted

  • Your account: your name, email, phone, password, profile picture, theme and any linked Google sign-in.
  • Events and albums you run with nobody else on them, with their guest lists, replies, invitations, photos and videos.
  • Your comments and likes, your place on other people's events as someone an event is for, and your place on a venue's staff.
  • Your venue, if you own one, and your unused passes. Anything you've paid for is lost.
  • Designs of yours that nobody else uses.

What carries on

  • An event you run that's also for other people (the couple at a wedding, say) isn't deleted. It carries on with its guests, replies, albums, photos and any pass, and passes to one of those people, picked at random. Someone with an account comes first. If nobody has one yet, it waits until the person picked signs up.
  • Photos and videos you added to other people's events stay in those events, with the name shown on them. They're part of that event. Its host can remove them.
  • Other people's events you were invited to stay, and so does your row on their guest lists, which is their own list.
  • Designs that other people's events use go on working, without your name, and leave the gallery.

What's kept, and why

Payment records are kept for as long as the law requires us to keep business accounts, with no link to you: what was bought, the amount, the date and the bank's reference. Automatic renewal stops first, so your card isn't charged again, and we ask the bank to remove your saved card. A short note that an account was deleted is kept, with no details about you.

Stored files are removed shortly after the account is deleted.
