Payment security

How your card details are sent when you pay, and how we protect your account.

Your card details go to the bank, not to us

When you pay, you are taken to Bank of Maldives' secure payment page to enter your card. Your card number, expiry date and security code are typed on the bank's page and sent straight to the bank. invites.blog never sees, receives or stores them. The bank tells us only whether the payment succeeded, the amount, and a reference for it.

We accept these cards:

Cards accepted: American Express, Visa, Mastercard, Maestro and UnionPay

Encrypted in transit

Every page of invites.blog and of the bank's payment page is served over HTTPS (TLS encryption), shown by the padlock in your browser. Anything you send, including your card details on the bank's page, is encrypted between your device and the server.

Verified by your bank

Card payments use 3-D Secure (American Express SafeKey, Visa Secure, Mastercard and Maestro Identity Check, UnionPay online payment). Your bank may ask you to confirm the payment with a one-time code or in its app. The bank's systems that handle card data follow the payment card industry's security standard (PCI DSS).

How we protect your account and data

  • Passwords are never stored as they are typed: we keep only a salted, one-way hash of each (PBKDF2), which cannot be turned back into the password.
  • Only you, and people you give access to, can see your events, guest lists and photos.
  • Our servers accept connections only over encrypted links, and only our team can reach the systems that hold your data.
  • We keep a record of each payment (what it was for, the amount, the date and its status) so you can see it under Billing. We keep no card details.
  • When you buy the Premium pass or Venue, the bank keeps your card on file so the plan can renew. It stays with the bank; we hold only the bank's reference to your customer record, which can't be used to see your card.

More on what we collect and why is in the Privacy policy.

Keeping yourself safe

  • Check that the address bar shows a padlock before you enter card details.
  • We will never ask for your card number, security code or bank codes by email, phone or message.
  • Please keep a copy of your payment confirmations and of our policies.

If you notice a payment you don't recognise, or think someone else has used your account, contact us straight away at [email protected] or +960 781 9157, and tell your bank.
